The Mt. Shasta Ski and Snowboard Team is holding a final holiday camp this week at the Ski Park and will then be starting its season-long programs on Jan. 7.

The team reports plenty of snow at the Ski Park and more in the forecasts.

Coaches have been busy helping young athletes master the sports of skiing and snowboarding during the camps.

“Registration for all programs is still open, and I encourage all parents of young skiers and snowboarder to check out all the programs offered,” says Mario Marchi, founder and long-time coach of the Team. “Parents thinking about signing up their kids should talk with parents already having kids in the program to find out about the benefits of joining.”

The Starters Program for skiers and snowboarders is designed for families that want to try the Team and not commit for the whole season. It runs for six consecutive Saturdays starting Jan. 7, and it’s the best deal offered at $199. “Much less than the cost of a babysitter!,” Marchi wrote in an email.

The Mt. Shasta Ski Team also offers coaching for adults who want to hone their skills and/or try racing. The Masters Program runs Sunday afternoon and Wednesday morning from Jan. 8 to March 26.
