Don L. Walcott ended his journey on earth January 13, 2017. He was 89 years old.

Born in Milwaukee, Oregon he moved to Ponca, Nebraska with his mother and two brothers, Maurice and Harold, in 1930.

Graduating from high school he travelled to Oregon where he joined the US Maritime Service in 1945. He then attended University of Nebraska in Lincoln where he met Pauline whom he married in 1949.

He was sent to Korea in 1951 during the Korean War. At Fort Bliss, Texas, after 10 years of service in the US Army, with the rank of Master Sargent, he returned to civilian life.

In 1962 he moved with his family to San Jose and started his 28 year career with Lockheed in Sunnyvale. He worked as a satellite test engineer, got a degree in math and physics from San Jose State University, and retired as a Department Manager.

He is survived by his wife, Pauline; three children: Maurice Walcott (Karen), Susan Evangelist (Steve), and Donna Greisen (Mark); four grandsons: Keegan Evangelist (Erika), Tristan Evangelist (Laura), Simon Evangelist (Chisako), and Eric Greisen (Binah); five great-grandchildren: Kyosuke, Haruma and Kaisei Evangelist; Pheona and Gabrielle Evangelist.

Don’s love centered around family and church where he served as Sunday School teacher, Missions Board Chairman, and Elder.
