NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Weed Planning Commission will conduct the following public hearing at its regularly scheduled meeting of Wednesday March 15, 2017 at the hour of 5:30 p.m. within the Council Chambers at City Hall, 550 Main Street.

The project is an amendment to Chapter 18.52 of the Municipal Code entitled “Secondary Dwelling Units.” The amendments are in response to recent State legislation to address constraints in local codes to encourage the development of Accessory Dwelling Units (formerly know as Secondary Dwelling Units). The City of Weed is proposing changes to Chapter 18.52 to achieve compliance with State housing policy and achieve consistence with Government Code 65852.2.

The proposed amendments are expected to be found exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15282 (h) as adoption of ordinances regarding secondary housing units to implement sections 65852 of the Government Code.

The draft of the amendment is available for public review at City Hall during normal business hours. Written comments should be sent to the attention of Deborah Salvestrin at the City of Weed, 550 Main Street, Weed, CA 96094. Both written and verbal comments will be accepted at the public hearing.

Interested persons are encouraged to attend and provide written and/or oral questions or comments concerning this agenda item or any other agenda item. Should any person challenge the proposals in court, that person may be limited to raising only those issues raised before the conclusion of the public hearings or in written correspondence delivered to City Hall prior to the public hearing.
