In an email addressed to “Coaches and Volunteers... and 200 competitors,” Mount Shasta High School track and field coach Steve Nesheim announced that he decided to cancel the 2017 Fair Weather Meet that was scheduled for Thursday, April 6, because of “foul weather” in the forecast. More precisely, Nesheim wrote, “the weather is likely to be cold, wet and windy... the ‘trifecta’ of foul weather in Mt. Shasta City. After raining tonight and then subsiding in the morning, the rain should begin again about 2:00 PM and get worse as the evening approaches. Temperature should be in the 40s with wind making the temperature feel colder.” He said the meet will not be rescheduled.
