'Absolutely delicious' shrimp taco's your choice of flour or corn tortilla. Homemade salsa!

Steve and Tori's Tex-Mex Grillin' BBQ and seafood has become a favorite place in Mount Shasta to get a really good meal. The restaurant is located inside of the Shasta Inn. They taut 'over 30 years of experience in serving artisan craft food' and you can taste their experience in the food. The restaurant is family friendly and family owned and operated. I'm impressed that insiders have told me it's the cleanest kitchen they have ever seen. Husband and wife team created the menu with their customers in mind, the food is presented with care and the refried beans are vegan.

I went there with my daughter who had seen their shrimp tacos on Facebook and wanted to try them. I had tried their pulled pork sandwich and brisket with a salad. I was impressed with the flavor they pack into the food and was looking forward to trying more of their offerings.

The Shrimp Tacos ($14.99) included three large grilled shrimp with chopped cabbage, tomatoes and cilantro. The tacos came with another warm salsa that is mildly spicy with chopped onions. They offer both flour and corn tortillas. Shelly said they were 'absolutely delicious.' Shrimp offering are tostada, taco, burrito, salad, nachos or a quesadilla.

We got our draft beers right away, but waited about 15 minutes to get a menu. It seems like you have to tell the bartender that you want to order food and then wait until he relays that information to the restaurant. Daughter, Precious is the server and she is learning the ropes and doing a good job. Their son delivered our menus with some hot salty crunchy corn chips with warm spicy salsa.

I ordered the Salmon on grilled vegetables ($17.99). The plate was overflowing with vegetables topped with a perfectly cook salmon, crusty exterior and pink interior. The vegetables included zucchini, asparagus, red onions, broccoli, mushrooms, and Brussel sprouts, hold the peppers. The veggies were full of flavor, cooked with just enough crunch to taste their freshness. The salmon can be served on your choice of a salad, grilled vegetables or on lemon jasmine rice.

Grilled salmon served over grilled fresh vegetables.

The vibe of the Shasta Inn is a little weird with a hunting lodge/sports bar theme, meaning there lots of stuffed animal heads hanging on the wood walls, a pool table, plenty of TVs and a large fire pit. The bar is covered with nickels encased in resin. It was built to be a place to stand, but now the bar stools are too short so, it's a little awkward. The full bar offers many craft beers on draft. The restaurant and bar operate separately so, be prepared to pay two bills.

Tex-Mex Grillin' is located at 1121 S. Mt. Shasta Blvd. they are open 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday thru Saturday.
