A Christmas Caroling Community Program will be presented by Kathy Zavada, Anton Mizerak, Laura Berryhill and friends on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. at the Mount Shasta Seventh Day Adventist Church on Highway 89.
The program will feature both secular and spiritual Christmas carols and will encourage audience participation with caroling song sheets provided.
Rev. Kathy Zavada is presently the spiritual leader of Unity of Oroville and was living in Paradise when her home was lost in the recent Camp Fire. Numerous member of her congregation also lost their homes and possessions in the fire, and this event will be a fundraiser for the Camp Fire victims.
Zavada states in a press release, “It has been a difficult time to not only lose my home in Paradise, but also to lose the entire town. I have gone through a collective grieving and healing process with the people in my congregation, and the greater community. We are astounded at the generosity and love of so many people reaching out to help us heal, in so many ways. It is the love and kindness that gets us through, and along with our faith, that is what gives us wings to rise out of this ash.”
Zavada was a longtime resident of Mt. Shasta, and has been presenting this Christmas Caroling program for more than 27 years in Mt. Shasta.
She has been a professional musician and recording artist her entire adult life and has released 12 CDs of original spiritual music over the last 30 years.
You can find her music at www.kathyzavada.com.
Anton Mizerak and Laura Berryhill are Mt. Shasta residents and have toured extensively for many years sharing inspiration music at venues nationwide.
They have released various musical recordings and you can find their music at www.shastasong.com. They have contributed to this Christmas caroling event for many years and are delighted to be co-presenting it this year for the purpose of uplifting the community and supporting the people of Paradise.
The program is free, and donations to Camp Fire victims will be gratefully accepted at the door.
