An audience of mostly children between the ages of 3 and 11 enjoyed the performances and being involved in Saturday afternoon’s Picnic in the Playhouse cabaret at Dunsmuir High School.

The show by New Frontier Theatre Company was packed with short songs from popular movies and included many sing-along opportunities.

The price of admission included free popcorn and lemonade.

A repeat performance is scheduled for Saturday, July 29, at DHS.

“I liked Elsa the best,” said Gwynnivere Walton, age 7. “I sang to ‘Let It Go.’ I had fun and want to see their next show.”

“My favorite was Olaf,” said 8 year old Declan May of Mount Shasta. “I sang with ‘Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.’”

Arty Boyd, age 11, said, “I was laughing the entire time. My favorite was the mermaid Ariel. Even if she wasn’t my stepmom, she still would be my favorite.”

This is the third New Frontier Theatre Company cabaret/variety show in a series. “First, there was a Halloween performance, then a comedy on April Fool’s Day, now this summer’s children’s cabaret,” said actress Ashley Hirsh.
