The Mt. Shasta Police Department reported that a 20 year old suspect was arrested Nov. 2 for an incident involving shooting an unoccupied vehicle in a parking lot on the 400 block of N. Mt. Shasta Blvd.

According to an MSPD press release, officers responded to a call reporting an attempted vehicle break-in and “recognized the vehicle had two of its windows shot out.”

As stated in the release, “Surveillance camera footage of the incident was discovered and captured video of the suspect driving up next to the victim vehicle, and shooting out two windows with one shot.” Video is posted on the Mount Shasta Police Department Facebook page:

After identifying the suspect as 20-year-old Jimmy Jorgensen of Mt. Shasta, MSPD said Jorgensen was contacted, came to the police department, and was subsequently arrested and booked into the Siskiyou County Jail on charges of Stalking (646.9 P.C.) and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm into an Unoccupied Vehicle (247P.C.).

MSPD said the vehicle and firearm seen being used in the video had not been recovered as of Friday afternoon and requests that anyone who has any information regarding the case contact Officer Priddy at 530-926-7540 regarding 17-7461.
