North State Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Nov. 28, this year, and 45 nonprofit organizations from Siskiyou County are participating, up from 32 last year.
Shasta Regional Community Foundation released the following information about the event and the list of participating nonprofits:
What is it?
• A 14 hour online giving event at www.northstategives.org – hosted and led by Shasta Regional Community Foundation and generously sponsored by Redding Bank of Commerce with support from Pacific Power Foundation on behalf of 120-plus local nonprofits in Shasta and Siskiyou counties.
When is it?
• Giving Tuesday – November 28th, the Tuesday following Thanksgiving
• Between the hours of 6 AM and 8 PM PST
How does it work?
• Nonprofits attended workshops, underwent rigorous review to ensure eligibility and capacity;
• Nonprofits create campaigns to attract donors for the day of giving to their particular organization;
• Donors give online (www.northstategives.org) on Nov. 28 - $10 minimum donation and can support any or all organizations with one transaction;
• Anyone may schedule their donation in advance beginning Nov. 14 to be debited from their account on Nov. 28;
• Incentives are available from the Knodel Family Endowment Fund to boost donations by donors:
-- $85,000 in an incentive pool – each organizations’ dollars raised will be calculated as a percentage of the total raised by all participants, and they will receive that amount as a bonus donation. i.e. if the total raised for the day is $1,000,000 and the organization raised $5,000 (.5% of $1M), they will receive $425 (.5% of $85,000).
-- $14,000 in prize challenges – 14 hourly random draws – 1 winner for each County at $500 each
Where is it taking place?
• Online at www.northstategives.org
• Giving kiosks are planned by individual organizations and by the Community Foundation at the Redding office
Benefit to Nonprofits
