Assistant Assessor-Recorder Craig Kay recently announced his candidacy for Siskiyou County Assessor-Recorder in the June 2018 Primary Election.

Longtime Assessor-Recorder Mike Mallory previously announced that he will be retiring when his term ends December 2018.

Kay is a Siskiyou County native who has more than 17 years of experience in assessor’s offices with nearly 14 of those in the Valuation Division of the Siskiyou County Assessor’s Office. He was promoted to Assistant Assessor seven years ago and most recently to Assistant Assessor-Recorder in July 2014.

Kay has been actively involved in many areas of the community, including management of the Siskiyou Knights Pop Warner Football program for many years. He currently serves as treasurer of the Dunsmuir Scholarship Fund Board, is a member of the Dunsmuir Cannabis Task Force, and was recently appointed to the City of Dunsmuir Planning Commission.

If elected, Kay states in a press release that he “will continue to serve the citizens of Siskiyou County with the same integrity and high level of service they have come to know from the Siskiyou County Assessor-Recorder’s Office.”
