Close out hearing FOR CDBG



NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Dunsmuir will conduct a public hearing by the City Council on June 21, 2018, at or after 6:00 pm at the City Council Chambers, 5902 Dunsmuir Ave, Dunsmuir, CA to the discuss the Final Grantee Performance Report for the Community Development Block Grant Program 13-CDBG-8968.

In January 2014, the City was awarded funding through the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) The city’s scope of work for this grant included Waterline Replacement, Dunsmuir Community Building renovation and developing a drinking water master plan and a drinking water rate study. The grant spending ended on the last day of 2017, the grant agreement will end September 30, 2018.

The city spent $1,354,890 on waterline replacement, replacing 12” pipe – 910 feet, 10” pipe – 90 feet , 8” pipe – 2725 feet, 6” pipe – 1921 feet, 4” pipe – 246 feet, 2” pipe – 433 feet, 1” pipe – 1339 feet of water main line. Total of 6,845 feet; $371,871 on the community center renovation, including a new kitchen and new bathrooms and $92,758 for the planning studies.

The purpose of the public hearing will be to give citizens an opportunity to make their comments known. In addition, a public information file is available for review at the above address between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Monday -Friday.
