Ronald “Pooch” Zanni, 76, passed away Monday, March 18, 2019 at Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta after a year-long battle with cancer.

Pooch was born in Weed to Benjamin and Erminia Zanni. He was the baby of the family, having two older brothers, Negie and Richard. He was preceded in death by his dad, mom, and brother Negie.

Pooch is survived by his daughter, Louann (John) Roberts of Redding; his son, Stacy Zanni of Bend; his grandchildren, Justin (Vanessa) Brown of Redding, and Hunter and Ayden Zanni of Bend, Oregon; his great grandson, Taren Brown of Redding; and his niece, Pilar (Ron Skaggs) Hartman of Redding.

He enjoyed spending time with his dog, Tippy, his good friends that were always there for him, and his family. He will be deeply missed by all.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mercy Hospice and Mercy Medical Center. They took amazing care of him and the family is eternally grateful.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 29 at 1 p.m. at the Winema Cemetery in Weed. A Celebration of life reception with food and drink to follow. It will be held at the Weed Community Center, 161 East Lincoln Avenue.
