In honor of Earth Day and to improve the natural beauty of the town of Mt. Shasta and surrounding area, Clean and Safe Mt. Shasta is coordinating the 3rd Annual Clean-Up Mt. Shasta on Saturday, April 27, 2019. Earth Day falls on Easter Sunday this year so the event was moved to the following weekend.

Individuals and groups of all ages and abilities who would like to participate in a Mt. Shasta community clean up are asked to RSVP to Glenn Harvey at (530) 925-9287 or glennharvey54@gmail.com and meet at 8:30 am on Saturday, April 22nd at the Lower Lodge, City Park, 1315 Nixon Road Mt. Shasta, CA 96067 for registration and orientation. Volunteers will be given maps of the designated city to be cleaned and can choose which area they would like to clean. Groups of volunteers will work with a team leader for each clean-up section of town or forest. It is recommended volunteers bring gloves, safety glasses, pick-up sticks and/or other trash-picking accessories and a personal water bottle, as well as wear bright-colored clothing.

Free breakfast will be served between 8:30 and 9 a.m. with a brief talk and instructions at 9 a.m. with the plan to be out in the field to do clean-up work by 9:30 a.m., finishing between 11 am and noon depending upon how many volunteers show up.

All are invited to join in the effort, and anyone who would like to volunteer to assist with coordination efforts prior to the event or at the lodge the morning of the event for registration, please message us on our Clean and Safe Mt. Shasta Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/CleanandSafeMtShasta/ or contact Glenn Harvey at 530-925-9287 or glennharvey54@gmail.com.

In-kind or monetary donations for coffee, tea, fruit and muffins at registration, garbage bags, pick-up sticks, gloves, safety glasses and other materials and to cover trucking and dump fees are greatly appreciated.
