Popping your neck.
It's something pretty much everyone does, but for a young Oklahoma father it nearly cost him his life.
Oklahoma City TV station KOCO reports that Josh Hader of Guthrie, Okla., tore an artery in his neck — an artery leading to his brain.
“The moment I heard the pop, everything on my left side started to go numb,” Hader, 28, told the station. “I got up and tried to get an ice pack from the fridge, and I remember I couldn't walk straight.”
He wound up in the emergency room, where doctors said he very well could've died.
“He could have formed more clot on that tear and had a life-ending stroke,” Dr. Vance McCollom at Mercy Hospital told KOCO.
But thankfully Hader will recover, his medical team says. He's taking medication and is also undergoing physical therapy.
