Friends and family of Kylynn Tanner Kortesmaki will miss her shining smile and gentle nature after she died unexpectedly following a short illness on May 17, 2019 at the age of 21.
Kylynn was born on July 13, 1997 in Truckee, California, but lived in Mount Shasta since the time she was 10 months old. She graduated from Mount Shasta High School in 2015.
Kylynn had a gentle, kind and generous soul. She made people laugh with her quirky sense of humor and gave selflessly. She loved animals of all kinds - both furry and scaly. She enjoyed taking care of her dear animals and the people she loved.
Kylynn was never afraid to stand up for what she believed in and was always true to herself. She respected all living things and appreciated nature. She enjoyed music, the mountains and the beach. She was extremely artistic and recently finished making a chess set our of clay.
Kylynn leaves behind her parents, Shelly and Forest Kortesmaki, as well as her younger sister, Tamsen, and her boyfriend of nearly three years, Jesse Vasey. She was loved by all who knew her, including grandparents Jack and Trish Tanner of Mount Shasta; Sonia Lamanuzzi of Viola, California; and Johanna Kortesmaki of Alabama. Kylynn has a large extended family, including aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins who will miss her deeply.
Kylynn's beautiful and unique spirit will live on in the hearts of those who love her.
