Wilbur Leslie Wheeler passed away at home with his loved ones by his side on May 20, 2019.

He is survived by his sister, Mary K. Demming; daughter Leslie Wheeler-Flora; son-in-law Thomas G. Flora; granddaughter Addison Wheeler Flora and a great granddaughter, Raelee June Flora.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, June C. Wheeler; his sisters, Evelyn, Avenell and Lois; and brothers Jack and Charles.

Will was born on the family farm in Polo, Missouri on December 7, 1918. He found his way west and began a lifelong career in banking. After serving as an infantryman in WWII, he became the Bank of America McCloud Branch Manager, where he retired after 62 years.

He served his beloved “Why would you want to live anywhere else” McCloud as a member/officer in many community organizations, including the American Legion, Salvation Army, Chamber of Commerce, Siskiyou County Fair Board, SIRS and others.

He is dearly missed by all of those he touched.

The most important gift he gave us was living as a gentleman: kind, humble, loyal, patient and thankful. We aspire to live up to his example.
