On the morning of June 11, 2019, Charleen Marie Deala passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Redding, surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren, after her yearlong battle with cancer.

Charleen was born in Yreka, in 1953 to Arnold and Mary Snapp. She was raised in Etna and attended Etna High School, where she met her love, Mike Deala. After high school, Charleen attended Chico Beauty College. Mike and Charleen were married in 1973 and raised their two children, Zeke and Hayley, in Etna.

Charleen was a strong, kind, and patient daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Charleen adored her family and has spent the last 42 years supporting her children and grandchildren in every aspect of their lives including; attending almost all their sports games, dance recitals, swim meets, and celebrations of her kids and grandkids. Some of her other favorite past times were laughing, reading, going to the lake, snuggling her dachshund, and camping on the river.

Charleen is preceded in death by her father, Arnold Snapp. Charleen is survived by her mother, Mary Snapp (Wathall); husband Mike Deala, son Zeke Deala; daughter-in-law Randi, and their children Tucker and Grace; daughter Hayley Hudson son-in-law Jason, and their children Isaac and Michaela Deppen, and Sierra, Tyner, Zeke, and Emma Hudson; her brother Richard Snapp sister-in-law Roseann; brother Bill Snapp, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at the Etna Cemetery on June 16, 2019.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the North State Cancer League and the Mercy Foundation North - Hospitality House, both of which significantly supported Charleen and family, during their difficult time.
