The Mount Shasta Police Department responded to a call for a fall victim at a residence on Ivy Street just before 3:30 a.m. Friday morning and found a female victim at the door bleeding from “a significant injury to her lip,” MSPD reported.

The victim stated she had been attacked by her boyfriend after an argument. The suspect , later determined to be 27 year-old Richard Steven Iles, had left the area prior to the officers’ arrival. The victim was taken to the hospital by ambulance to receive medical treatment.

Iles, also known as Richie, is approximately 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He has blond, chest length dreadlocked hair and a beard.

Iles has a history of living homeless and is believed to be driving a 1997 green Chrysler Town and Country van with Oregon plate of 714LFJ, the MSPD said. He is also known to frequent Ashland, Oregon.

If located in California, there is probable cause to arrest, the MSPD said. The department is seeking a warrant in the event he has left the state.

If Iles is spotted, the public is asked to contact the MSPD at (530) 926-7540 or the local law enforcement agency if seen outside of the Mount Shasta city limits.
