Vivian Amy was born in Yreka, California on January 2, 1946 to Henry and Emma Amy. Vivian was raised in Mount Shasta, California where her parents owned and operated Abrams Lake.
Vivian graduated from Mount Shasta High School in 1964 and attended beauty college in Redding, California to earn her degree in Cosmetology. She opened Vivian’s Beauty Salon in Mount Shasta where she met and married her husband of 53 years Robert (Bob) Tallerico from McCloud, California. They were living in Mount Shasta when Bob was drafted into the U.S Army. Bob and Viv spent a year in Germany as part of his mission. Returning to Mount Shasta they were blessed with their daughter, Monica Marie.
At one point in Vivian’s wonderful life she began her own business of crafting dough art and spent many hours going from craft fair to craft fair, where she would she would showcase and sell her creations. She also sold to multiple retail stores. She was called the Chicken Lady because most of her figures were of chickens.
Vivian loved to cook, bake, hike in the woods, go on picnics and spend time with her family and friends. One of her favorite places was McCloud, where she and her husband bought Bob’s parents’ home. They loved going to Fowlers Campground to visit Lower, Middle and Upper Falls. She, along with her family and friends, had many picnics in those beautiful surroundings.
Vivian was proceeded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband Bob and daughter Monica (Newark, California) and brother John Amy (Santa Rosa, California). She was truly loved by her family and many friends. Lives will not be the same without Vivian’s wonderful smile and infectious laugh.
