A signature event during Dunsmuir's Jazz In the Canyon is the concert presented by Allison Scull & Victor Martin & the 5-piece Midnight Band.

This year the band played on Saturday night. The concert – which featured Patrick Wiseman on drums, Bruce Calin on bass, Allison Scull on guitar and vocals, and Victor Martin on saxophone and handheld percussion – was played to a full house at POPs Performing Arts & Cultural Center.

Dunsmuir's Jazz In the Canyon also provided a special music concert for children and their families last Saturday at POPs.

The children's concert was presented by Wild Roots – with Annie Kramer on guitar and vocals, and Jerry Hamlin on percussion. The lively, interactive concert provided opportunity for the children to sing and dance along with Kramer and Hamlin.

This kid-friendly concert event provided plenty of stuffed animals to dance with, kid-sized percussion instruments to jam with, and even a gorilla puppet for dramatic play. The Dunsmuir Community Resource Center sponsored the event, and was on hand to give away free children's books, and to encourage the children to sign up for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program, which is a book gifting program that mails free books to children from birth to age five.
