The American Legion Cheula Post 92 Auxiliary “stands solidly behind America and her ideas, values, reputation and patriotism.” It is still one of the largest service organizations in the north state and McCloud’s is the last Auxiliary in Siskiyou County.

On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, the last remaining American Legion Auxiliary in Siskiyou County will be celebrating its 100th anniversary.

Founded on Nov. 10, 1919, the organization was formed in the aftermath of the “War to End All Wars,” World War I. The American Legion Auxiliary now has nearly one million members throughout the Unite States and abroad.

The American Legion Cheula Post 92 Auxiliary “stands solidly behind America and her ideas, values, reputation and patriotism.” It is still one of the largest service organizations in the north state and McCloud’s is the last Auxiliary in Siskiyou County.

The McCloud group also holds the legacy of being the largest Auxiliary Unit in District 2.

As a service organization to support veterans and the community, each year the Auxiliary of Post 92 conducts programs in the community and local schools including educational activities and offers scholarships for high school seniors through many fundraising events.

In celebration of their centennial and Veterans Day, the public is invited to the Legion on 232 Broadway Ave. in McCloud at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11.
