The Fairchild Medical Center Auxiliary Holiday Basket Faire, the event that the community eagerly awaits each year, will be held Dec. 2-6, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the FMC board conference room, according to a recent press release from the FMC Auxiliary.

On Sunday, Dec. 1, the Auxiliary held a reception and sneak peek preview of the baskets in the board conference room. Tickets for the baskets will be available for purchase and everyone purchasing tickets will be given a special ticket for the opportunity to win the “door prize” basket. Drawing for the door prize basket will be at 4 p.m. on Dec. 6 and you need not be present to win. Light refreshments will be served.

“The Basket Faire is the most amazing array of Christmas/Holiday baskets, some of which are valued over $1,000,” the FMC Auxiliary noted. The various departments of Fairchild Medical Center create theme oriented baskets (for example, a camper theme basket, date night basket, movie night basket, etc.) which are beautifully displayed for one week in the hospital’s board conference room, the press release detailed.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and can be purchased up to the time of the drawing on Friday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m. Individuals do not need to be present to win.

The Holiday Basket Faire tradition goes back at least 24 years and is the major fundraiser the Auxiliary conducts to raise funds for Fairchild Medical Center. Typically, the Faire raises well over $10,000.

“This is a win-win situation: The hospital receives funds to purchase equipment, etc., those purchasing tickets are donating to a great cause, and could conceivably win a basket worth hundreds of dollars…just by spending one dollar,” the FMC Auxiliary said.
