All protests for the proposed rate increase should be presented in writing by 5 p.m. on Feb 10. At 6 p.m. on this date, there will be a public hearing regarding the fee increase where all comments will be considered and more information will be provided.

The McCloud Community Services District Board of Directors met on the Jan. 27 to approve the second and final reading of an ordinance that adds a $42 per hour charge for picking up scattered trash from residents who leave cans out to have refuse scattered by bears or other animals.

The board members also discussed a proposed rate increase for water, sewer and refuse services.

All protests for the proposed rate increase should be presented in writing by 5 p.m. on Feb 10. At 6 p.m. on this date there will be a public hearing regarding the fee increase where all comments will be considered and more information will be provided.

This meeting will be held at the Scout Hall, 405 E. Colombero Drive in McCloud.

The last increases for McCloud’s water and sewer were in 2013 and 2014. The proposed increases have been forecasted to span over the next five years for water, sewer and refuse.

Water would increase from $40 to $52.50 in 2020 then by $2 each year through 2024. Sewer fees will increase by $8 this year and $3 each year after, through 2024. Refuse, which is currently $23.20 will increase to $31 with a dollar increase each year for the following four years.
