The Yreka casino will be closed through March 30.

Rain Rock Casino is the latest victim of the battle against COVID-19. On Tuesday afternoon, the Karuk Tribe and Rain Rock Casino management reported that they’ll be closing their doors between March 17 and 30.

During this time, the press release noted, all employees will continue to be paid and receive benefits.

“Rain Rock Casino has been monitoring the news of coronavirus as reported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization. Our number one priority is the health and safety of our guests, team members, and tribal members, which is why we have decided to temporarily suspend casino operations effective at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17,” according to their release. “(WE) feel this is the best course of action for our community, after careful consultation with the State of California and in consideration of the Governor’s guidance on large gatherings.”

In the event that Rain Rock Casino decides to open sooner, or need to extend the closure, the trib said they will update the casino’s webpage, www.rainrockcasino.com
