Restaurants are doing their best to adapt to the new rules; many say they're taking things one day at a time.

The necessity to practice social distancing has put restaurants and eateries in a difficult position. Many food businesses have chosen to close their doors; others have cut their hours and made changes to their menu so they can stay open. To help stimulate business, Governor Gavin Newsom has approved eateries to sell alcoholic beverages with to-go food to adults over 21 years old. Beverages must be in containers.

Restaurants are doing their best to adapt to the new rules; many say they’re taking things one day at a time. Bob’s Ranch House in Etna has laid off all staff that aren’t family. They will cook breakfast and lunch for takeout and offer family meals for takeout dinners. Dunsmuir Brewery Works was looking at a “creative menu” rather than offering a full menu, but then realized they needed to close the food service part of their business. They will continue making beer.

Below is a partial list of north county restaurants and eateries with the most current information as of March 23. Before heading out to grab a to-go order, it is best to check with the restaurant for their latest hours, menu items and closures.
