Richard Arnold Dusenbury, also knows as Dick or Rich, was born in Weed, California, on September 19, 1938. He died March 22, 2018, aged 79, at his home also in Weed, California, after a brief illness.

A certified Journeyman Lineman, he liked to say that he built power lines from San Diego to the Arctic Circle. Richard was an outdoor enthusiast, who hunted and fished most of Siskiyou County. He was briefly a member of the Mt. Shasta ski patrol. For most of his life, he rode and rebuilt Harley Davidson motorcycles.

When he retired, Richard earned his private pilot’s license and then bought and flew his own airplane. He loved music, particularly blues and jazz, and played the electric and acoustic guitars.

He had an active spiritual practice, most notably as a Sun Dancer in the Lakota Sioux Native American tradition. During his life and through his spiritual practices, Richard influenced and helped many people.

Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Starlene Wilson, and is survived by his wife, Ann Ashton, two dogs and four step children. A celebration of his life will be held later this summer.
