It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Adam. He died at home surrounded by his family, loved ones and fiance.

Adam was born in Mt. Shasta on 8/5/73 to Alan J. Zanni and Barbara J (Salsburg) Zanni. He is pre-deceased by his father Alan. He is survived by his mother Barbara, brothers James Zanni, Chris Zanni (Shelby), sister Dori Defalco (Mike), fiance Amber Maddox, ex-wife Rebecca Zanni, daughter Miranda Zanni, and sons Nathan Slabaugh and Adison Zanni, all of Mt. Shasta; numerous nieces and nephews, aunt Bunny Steele (Arles) of Dunsmuir, and Ruth Visman (Carl) of Placerville, CA and numerous cousins, many friends and co-workers.

Adam attended Mt. Shasta schools and graduated from Mt. Shasta High School in 1991. He was very active in baseball, football and basketball. He also helped coach Mt. Shasta High School football. He was a member of the Mt. Shasta Volunteer Fire Department and had been a member of the Mt. Shasta Elks. He attended and graduated from College of the Siskiyous and went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Police Science/ Police Administration from Sacramento State. He also attended College of the Redwoods before going to work for the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Department March 7, 1996, where he was a deputy for over 20 years. He finished his career working in code enforcement for the county.

During his time with the Sheriff’s office he worked all over the county as a resident deputy. He wore many hats, working in drug enforcement, the task force with DOJ, Search and Rescue and scuba divings. He was known and respected by all he worked with. He loved his family and had “extra kids” whom he helped mentor. He was always about his family and friends.

Godspeed and rest in peace, you were taken too soon from us, but we will meet again. We all love you and will remember you with fond memories and happy thoughts, as you always said, “It is what it is”.

Services will be held at the Mt. Shasta Baptist Church on Lassen Lane at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 15th. A celebration of life will follow at the Mt. Shasta Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to go to a GOFUNDME under Adam Zanni Memorial setup by his fiance Amber Maddox for funeral expenses and his family.
