Robert Roy (Bob) Olds
Robert Roy (Bob) Olds – passed away on the evening of July 21, 2021 in Fort Smith, Arkansas following a short hospital stay. Born in San Bernardino, CA on 08 April, 1932, he lived an active life that encompassed a multitude of events. Some, but not all include: Korean War Veteran of the US Navy, oil field mechanic around Taft, CA, Patrolman and Pilot for the California Highway Patrol badge #3435 (Mojave and Barstow substations), a Major in the Civil Air Patrol, member of various motorcycle clubs including Ride Captain for the Patriot Guard Riders in Northwest Arkansas, airplane builder and aerobatic pilot (2 RV-4's), founding member of the Jefferson State Air Force, a follower of Jesus Christ working as a RV Volunteer building and repairing churches nationwide, tinkerer and fabricator of metal projects, dedicated husband and father of four children.
His final years were spent in Charleston, Arkansas where the love of his life passed away and he continued until his passing. He is pre-deceased by his loving wife of 51 years Lucille (Lou Lou) Olds and daughter-in-law Brenda Olds. He is survived by his second wife Anne Rogers of Charleston, AR who greatly aided in his final years, sister Darlene Johnston of Goleta, CA, son David (wife Gail) Olds of Bakersfield, CA, daughter Sue Steelman of Bakersfield, CA, son Frankie Olds of Taft, CA and son Bobby (wife Kathleen) Olds of Mount Shasta, CA., as well as, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a small graveside gathering for family and friends at the Bloomer Cemetery on Wednesday August 18th, 2021 at 10:00 AM.
