Susan Jane Thomas

Susan Jane Thomas, 69, of Burney CA, unexpectedly passed away, 29 April 2022. Born 26 March, 1953 in Artesia CA, preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Joy Cummings and her niece Sacha Ann Marino. She leaves behind her husband Mark Thomas, son Matthew Thomas, daughter Elyse Ledger-Thomas, siblings Lisa Marnino, Jack Cummings and John Cummings. Susan grew up in Los Angeles and was a long time resident of Mt. Shasta. Susan spent her time in Mt. Shasta water/snow skiing, hiking and enjoying nature. While living in Mt. Shasta, she worked for the Forest Service and also waitressed at several local eateries. Susan and her husband had been residing in Burney, CA for the last 31 years and spent their free time camping, boating and gardening. She graduated from a program at Shasta college, and spent the next 12 years working for Safeway, as a pharmaceutical technician. Susan loved her family, animals and the mountains.

Services will be held at 11:00am 21 May 2022 in the Veterans section of the Burney Cemetery, on Bailey Rd, followed by a remembrance gathering at the Lions Club.
