James Alameda passed away on May 18th, 2022 in Grenada, CA. He was born in Wyoming on May 10th, 1930 to parents Antonio Alexio Alameda of Azores, Portugal and Pearl Chamblin of Hope, Arkansas. James made it just 8 days past his 92nd birthday and passed on in the presence of his wife of sixty-eight years, Nina “Sue” Alameda of Dunsmuir, CA. He was the youngest boy of five brothers and two sisters whom all grew up on a sheep ranch together. James was an avid hunter and fisher for the many years he grew up in Wyoming where he also became a master gunsmith. His passion extended into the many years he spent in Siskiyou County. James worked for 44 years for the Southern Pacific Railroad. James is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Nina “Sue” Alameda, his children James H. Alameda of Dunsmuir, CA, Susan Lynette Ballard of Dunsmuir, CA, and Linda Diane Cole of Lakeland, TN. He will also be missed by his many grandchildren: Bradley J. Shearer, Nathan D. Shearer, Lyndsay E. Alameda, Michelle L. Alameda, Eric D. Alameda, Matthew J. Ballard, Christopher M. Ballard, Daniel D. Ballard, Anthony J. Cole, and Erin Leigh Cole. As well as his great-grandchildren: Tristan Shearer, Hunter Shearer, and Adalynn Ballard.

Services to be held at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel & Park on Friday, May 27th, 2022 at 1PM.
