Mary was born in Weed, California on October 28, 1919, to Italian immigrants. After marrying her husband, Pete, she moved to McCloud where she was a longtime resident. She passed away peacefully in Bellevue, Washington on July 29, 2022, where she had been living for the last four years to be near her daughter, Rosalie. She was 102 years old.

After graduating from Weed High School, she attended Heald College in San Jose, California and completed a secretarial course. Mary was happiest in her kitchen cooking for her family and friends. She was often up at the crack of dawn making bread, ravioli, and her famous cookies. She loved teaching people how to cook. As an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Altar Society, she helped to prepare and serve food for the annual St. Joseph’s Spaghetti Feed and Salad Luncheon benefits. She volunteered at Mercy Medical Center in Mt. Shasta, serving beverages to patients in the afternoon. Mary was also a volunteer election day poll worker.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Pete, her son Mike, and brothers Joe, John, and Sam. She is survived by her daughters Rosalie D’Amico of Bellevue, Washington and Mary Davis of Jackson, Mississippi, sisters Lena Johnston of McCloud and Rosie Quierolo of Stockton, grandchildren Lisa Whittaker of Bellevue, Washington, Scott Ramirez of Weed, Kim Hall of Birmingham, AL, and Tiffany Davis of Westminster, MA, as well as four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was beloved by so many and will be remembered as a generous and loyal friend. She was a feisty, independent, strong woman with boundless energy, earning her the nickname of “Energizer Bunny” by her family!

Interment of ashes will be at the Mt. Shasta Memoria Park Mausoleum. No services are planned at this time.
