Obituary

After battling cancer, and putting up a tremendous fight, Georgia Michelle Barberick passed away at the age of 57 on Tuesday, July 19th, 2022. She was surrounded by friends and family at her parents’ home, in McCloud, CA.

Georgia was born June 28th 1965. She grew up in the Bay area of California and was the youngest of 6 children, including Debbie, Bob, Kellie, Robin, and her twin brother George. She graduated from Mission San Jose High School in 1983, where she was a talented cheerleader for George’s football team. Later, while living in Southern California, she had her sons Ronnie and Sean. Upon the birth of her son, Phillip, she moved to Northern California in 1998. While there, she met John Seitzinger, and the two were married in 2011. Sadly, John passed away in 2014.

Sweet Georgia brightened the lives of others through her work serving in many wonderful restaurants over the years, starting with Tommy Simons’ Café. She was also a Registered Dental Assistant and Receptionist at Family Smiles, which was more than a place of work for her, as she truly loved the people there. Georgia’s family would like to extend their deep gratitude to Dr. Trevor Regan, Dr. Daryl Wheller, and Dr. Todd Young for their love and support throughout the years, and for providing the catering at her celebration of life ceremony – a small gathering of relatives, which was held shortly after her passing.

Georgia had an undeniable spark. She cared deeply about making others feel special, and always tried to be there for those in need. She took pride in being an incredibly hard worker and preferred jobs that involved helping other people. She loved rock and roll, tacos, and her pups. She was happiest when surrounded by her big family at their festive gatherings.

Georgia is survived by: Her children, Ronnie Richmond, Sean and Brittany Richmond, and Phillip Cogburn. Her mother, Maurine Barberick. Her siblings, Debbie and Pete Jackson, Bob Gunion and Carina De Herrera, Kellie Sanders, Robin and Buck Merten, and George and Jill Barberick, along with her beloved nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a beautiful community of extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by: Her husband, John Seitzinger. Her father, George Barberick Sr., and her birth mother, Virginia Arps.
