Joyce Marie Maria, a resident of Mt. Shasta, California, passed away on August 10, 2022, after a yearlong battle with cancer. She was 75 years old.

Joyce was born to Marjorie and James Runow in Sacramento, California on July 28, 1947. She moved to Siskiyou County from Elk Gove, California 45 years ago.

Joyce was a loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, and friend to many. She owned Silarmco Security Systems along with her husband Don Maria for many years. She enjoyed baking, sewing, crafting and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include daughters: Gayle Ragghianti of Portland and Heather Solus of Mt. Shasta; Sons: James Lott of Yreka, Michael Maria of Washington, and Tony Maria of Dunsmuir; 14 grandchildren; and 6 great- grandchildren.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Don Maria, and her daughter, Francie Basquez.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September, 24th at 10 a.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Mt. Shasta, with Pastor Larry Holben officiating. Burial is at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
