Nikki passed away at the age of 79, two weeks before her 80th birthday. Nikki was born on October 14, 1942 to parents Athanasios(Tommy) Pertsulakes and Eleni Pertsulakes. She was raised in Santa Barbara, California where she graduated from Santa Barbara High School and UCSB.

Nikki wed Charles(Chuck) Hayes on June 27, 1965 at Saint Barbara’s Greek Orthodox Church. Nikki was active in the Greek church until moving to Mount Shasta in 1994. She taught Sunday School, was a member of the Philoptochos Society and the Women’s Guild.

While in Santa Barbara she taught Movement Education at various elementary schools. She also ran the office for her husband’s electrical contracting company.

After moving to Mount Shasta she attended Mount Shasta First Baptist Church. She was an active volunteer for the Coffee Connection, a Christian coffee and lunch house for over 20 years. She enjoyed getting together with friends and family, playing cards and other games,cooking and going on walks.

Nikki is survived by her husband Charles Hayes, daughter Victoria (William) Larsen, son Christopher (JoAnn) Hayes, daughter Alicia Hayes-Rodenberger. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Ashley Larsen, Tanner Larsen, Summer Larsen, Shaeley Larsen, Amber Floyd, Charlie Hayes, Liam Hayes, Tessa Mitchell, Karina Rodenberger, Harmony Rodenberger and 6 great grandchildren. They all called her YiaYia(Greek for Grandma).

A small Celebration of Life was held on October 15 at First Baptist Church.
