Obituary

Susan Alayne Wilson passed from this life into heaven on October 22, 2022, after a long fight with Alzheimer’s. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jim Wilson, their son Marc, and daughter-in-law Stacey Wilson and her loving five granddaughters, Kayla, Brooke, Destiny, Megan and Katherine and Susan’s only sister, Jill Schumacher.

Susan was born on November 16, 1943, in Culver City, California and grew up in the area where she attended school, graduating from Hamilton High School. Susan attended some college early on then went to work at Larry’s Food Products. She met Jim while working at Larry’s, fell in love and were married on July 28, 1963. Marc was born on April 21, 1971, and they became a beautiful and loving family. It wasn’t until Marc entered college that Susan pursued her life-long dream of going back to college. She graduated from California State University, Los Angeles and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Development.

Susan was able to put her valuable skills to use when they lived in Temple City, California. She worked for 30 years at the Arcadia Friends Preschool and enriched many lives while teaching.

In 2001, Susan and Jim moved to Mt. Shasta, California and built their beautiful retirement home. Susan enjoyed her daily walks in the country and working in her several acres of land. Often her neighbors and friends would find her working in her beautiful yard. She loved her flowers and especially her lilacs and peonies. Her home was her showpiece, and truly was magnificent how she transformed a hillside of dirt and rocks into the showplace she created.

Susan was able to again put her early education skills to use when she became the teacher/director of the State funded preschool for young children in the Montague and Yreka area. She dedicated her life to the children and their families in the development of their young lives in preparation to advancement to grade school.

Susan also joined the Evangelical Free Christian Church in Mt. Shasta and met many wonderful friends. She enjoyed singing praises to the Lord and became active in the bible studies with Pastor Gary.

Susan will be missed by her family and friends but will remain in our hearts forever.

Passage to be read at graveside service for Susan Alayne Wilson.

Mark 10: Vs 13-16

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples Rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant, He said to them, Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them.
