LaVada Erickson of Mount Shasta, California passed away peacefully on November 16th, 2022 in Redding, California with her family by her side. She was 82.

LaVada was born on January 25th, 1940 in McCloud, California and lived in Mount Shasta for most of her life. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, public servant, and dear friend to so many.

LaVada served as a Siskiyou County Supervisor from 1997 to 2009 and helped her husband found and run their family business Gene Erickson Trucking. She was a devoted member of Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Gene Erickson, her daughter Roseann Erickson, her parents Fred and Vallia Roberts, and her brother Tom Roberts.

She is survived by her son Frederick Erickson and daughter-in-law Victoria Erickson, her grandchildren Frederick (and Heather) Erickson and Katheryn (and Christopher) Wenzel, and her five great-grandchildren: Spencer, Avery, Chelsey, Madeleine, and Margaux.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 25th at 11 AM at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Mount Shasta. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mercy Hospice Mount Shasta.
