On Monday, December 26, 2022, Kenneth Hartz peacefully passed away at the age of 77 while at his home with family. He was born to Beatrice and Victor Hartz, in Elizabeth NJ, and was brother to Gerald Hartz.
As a Husband, Father, Brother and great friend to many walks of life, Ken was known for an amazing funny bone and sense of humor with a strong penchant for “Dad Jokes” that many recall fondly, and a smile that was infectious, even during hard times. His love for the open skies served him well as a Commander and Pilot for the US Navy, and his passion for flying was passed down and survived by his son.
He was an avid enjoyer of the outdoors. He loved camping, kayaking and going on hikes. After a poorly dealt hand from life in 2004, in which he became paralyzed from the waist down, he refused to let his spirit be daunted. In the many years since, he shared in many adventures and enjoyed going on strolls and excursions with family and friends alike, visiting beautiful scenic views of ocean cliff sides and deep forests.
He is free, and will be remembered and celebrated by the many lives and hearts of the friends and family he has enriched throughout his life, and his memory shall hopefully leave us with a smile that he loved to bring.
