February 27, 1945 - December 10, 2022
Dale Dwayne Andreasen succumbed to COPD in the late afternoon of December 10, 2022, at the age of 77.
Born in Idaho, his family moved to California once he was a teenager, where he attended Huntington Beach High School. After graduating, he married Susan Plantz, and they had three children: Davy, Jennie, and Becky. The family moved often but spent the largest portion of their time together in Eureka, CA. Dale and Sue divorced in the 1970's.
Dale remarried in the 1990's. He had been working and living in several different states by that time, in his career in journalism that eventually led to his being the publisher of various newspapers, most recently The Siskiyou Daily News. Dale and Joyce spent the largest portion of their time together in Yreka, CA. Joyce's daughters, Genny and Lisa, also moved to the area with their families. Dale called Siskiyou County his home until November of 2021, when his health necessitated moving to the San Francisco Bay Area, near his three children.
Dale will be sorely missed by many. A charming, funny, free spirit who had always planned to write "the next great American novel," he was an avid reader and movie-watcher. He loved to listen to music, and he always sang along.
Dale is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, as well as his father, Randy, his mother, Millie, and his brother, Jim. He is survived by his brother, Alan, his sister, Sandi, and their families, as well as his children, step-children, and their families.
