John McKay left this world the morning of Feb 9th at the age of 86. Born May 25, 1936 to John Easton McKay and Cornelia Dawn Harris in Henrietta, Oklahoma, he impacted the lives of many. He leaves behind his wife, Glory; daughters Jessica McKay and Shauna McKay Randall; Grandchildren, Katelynn, Jonathan, Shaun, Ali, Cammy, and Aubrey, three great-grandchildren and his Brother Vic Lively (Claudia) along with many nieces and nephews.
John served in the U.S. Army from Sep 1951 - May 1957 primarily as a paratrooper. Service stations included Fort Ord, CA; Fort Bragg, NC; Korea and more. Later in civilian life he earned his commercial and multi-engine pilot licenses and was one of the founding members of the Southern Oregon Sky Divers Association.
Post military service John worked for Consolidated Freightways, driving a truck for 38 years, and after being named their #1 Driver, retired in 1998. He was an accomplished musician and happily played the organ for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for over 25 years. He was a passionate fisherman and enjoyed traveling.
John was beloved by many and will be missed by many more. Graveside services will be on Feb 17th at 10:30am at Mount Shasta Memorial Park Cemetery.
