John (Jack) Mason Churchill, passed away on February 18, 2023, at the age of 88 in Buckeye, Arizona. Born on December 18, 1934, in Manhattan, New York, Jack was an Eagle Scout and attended Rice, Stanford, and San Francisco State University, where he earned a BA in Economics. He served in the US Army in Germany and received an Honorable Discharge in 1961.

Jack lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, for 20 years, where he worked as a banker and later as a contractor. In 1985, he married Carol Mallery in San Jose, California, a second marriage for both. The couple moved to Dunsmuir in 1994, where they joined the worship family at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Mt. Shasta. Jack worked as a Trainer for the Siskiyou Opportunity Center and as a Tutor for the America Reads Program at Dunsmuir Elementary School. He was a dedicated volunteer at Mt. Shasta Hospital and Dunsmuir Rotary, where he became a Paul Harris Fellow.

In 2010, Jack and Carol moved to Buckeye, Arizona, where Jack continued his passion for volunteering. He was a member of the Perryville Women's Prison Ministry Team at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Litchfield Park, where he brought the Good News of Jesus to comfort and encourage Perryville women for 10 years.

Jack was a man of many interests and gifts. He loved the bible, mysteries, study, and teaching. He was a technician, a woodworker, a builder, a baker, a chef, and a jelly-maker. He loved Impressionist Art, Gary Larson, and learning to paint. Jack loved life and rejoiced in every smile and shared every tear.

Jack is survived by his wife, Carol, 2 sons, 4 daughters, 14 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, William and James, and son, Westley.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00pm on May 13, 2023, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 400 South Old Litchfield Rd, Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dunsmuir Rotary or St. Peter's Prison Ministry Fund "for Jack." Jack will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched through his kindness and generosity.
