Joyce DeLaMontanya went home to be with the Lord peacefully, April 27th, after a lengthy period of declining health. She was born February 17th, 1934 in Livingstone County, Missouri to Earl and Edna Young. The family relocated to Siskiyou County in 1937 where she lived most of her life; relocating in 2019 to Central Point, Oregon to be near family. Joyce grew up in McCloud, California, attending the local schools (proudly wearing the required middy uniform) and worked at the McCloud Meat Market before marrying Johnny Cosentino of Dunsmuir. Joyce worked at various jobs while raising her three children. She also volunteered at St. John's Catholic Church and the local schools. She later worked many years as a secretary for Farmer's Insurance. After John's death in 1992, she married Hudson DeLaMontanya and was married to him for almost 20 years before his death in 2016. Joyce was an avid gardener, shopper and cribbage player. She is survived by her children, Josie, Julie (Doug), and Lou (Lisa), as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Kinsington Oak Grove Memory Facility and Providence Hospice in Medford, Oregon for their diligent care and attention these final weeks. Per her wishes, no memorial services will be held; instead, head to your nearest Dairy Queen and order a "Blizzard" or enjoy a nice dish of ice cream (her favorite treat) while watching Mollie B's Polka Party or Larry's Country Diner. Memorial contributions may be made to the McCloud Garden Club on her behalf.
