On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, the Rodriguez family lost the rock of the family. Engelberto F. Rodriguez passed away unexpectedly in his home.
Engelberto was born January 15, 1940 in “el ranchito de Platanar, Jalisco,
Mexico.” He immigrated in 1962. Weed, California became his home where he began working at International Paper Company for 16 years, he then worked in the logging industry for 18 years, and finished working at Timber Products Company for 10 years before he officially retired.
Engelberto is survived by his wife, Marcelina, 5 children, Socorro Sanchez, Cordelia Reichert, Engelberto Rodriguez Jr., David Rodriguez and Miguel Rodriguez, 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Engelberto was a kind and loving husband, an amazing father and grandfather/great grandfather. He was his family's superhero and was always there for them through their ups and downs. He taught them to enjoy every moment life had to o er and to always remember that family always came first.
Engelberto enjoyed family gatherings and loved being out in the woods. There wasn’t a weekend where he wasn’t sharpening his chain saw or out getting a cord of wood.
A viewing will be held on Friday, September, 18, 2020 at 6:00 pm at Mount Shasta Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church beginning at 11:00 am. The saying of the rosary will be held before the service at 10:30 am. Following the service, burial will be at Winema Cemetery.
