John Snyder of Big Springs defended his singles crown, and Weed’s Cleo Toms won his second straight doubles title with a new partner at the Carnevale Horseshoe Tournament Saturday and Sunday at Bel Air Park in Weed.
A longtime time fixture in throwing circles, Snyder topped Toms in the singles final while Michelle Chandler of Weed, last year’s runner up, finished third.
The doubles final saw Toms and his new partner, Chelsea Hayes, beat tournament organizer Caleb Cordes and John Chandler.
Nine year old Braeden Cordes teamed up with his mom, Candace Robinson to finish fifth. Braeden threw three “six-packs,” also called double-ringers.
Twenty five people competed in the singles tourney and 19 teams in the doubles.
