Blake Chitwood broke the College of the Siskiyous cross country course record on Friday, Oct. 18, winning the Bear Trail Run at the COS campus in Weed. The Eagles finished second in the team standings.
Chitwood covered the rolling 4 mile course in 21:50, lowering the previous course record he held by 15 seconds. Eagle Miranda Linker rallied from 4th place in mid-race to a third place finish with a kick down the stretch, notching a 22:48 time on the 5 kilometer loop.
Teams from Butte College, College of the Redwoods, Shasta College, Simpson College, and College of the Siskiyous competed.
