Longtime local running supporter Dusty Miller passed along some stats. This will the 20th consecutive year that Mount Shasta has qualified athletes for the State XC Meet.
The girls team won three state titles, and the boys recorded third and fifth place finishes. Austin Fritzke won two state individual titles, and, notes Miller, the Fritzke siblings, Austin and Katie, are the only brother-sister combo to win both boys and girls titles in the same year when they did it in 2004.
Lady Bear Darian Debortoli was the first South county girl in 95th place overall and 30th in D5.
