The women played Feather River at home Wednesday and won the contest 80-61. COS has a rematch with Butte Saturday in Oroville. The Eagles are 3-2 in the GVC, and are 15-8 overall.

The College of the Siskiyous Eagles women saw a 40-30 halftime lead slip away when starter Faith Tracy fouled out, Ashley Cox left the game with what appeared to be a head injury, and Anhelica Shanrock suffered a hip-pointer and hobbled through the last ten minutes of the game. Butte won, 78-71, at COS on Monday.

The Eagles saw their 10-point halftime advantage slip away in the third quarter when Butte outscored them 24-12. COS lost Tracy and Cox, their two leading rebounders, allowing Butte’s bigs the run of the boards with numerous second-chance buckets.

Shanrock hit the floor hard twice, going after loose balls and limped up and down the court the rest of the way, having to stay on the floor for the short-handed Eagles.

They got down by 15 points in the fourth quarter, rallied back to within 6 points, but didn’t have the firepower to catch the GVC leaders.

Lynden Harry hit five threes and scored 21 points for the Eagles. Faith Tracy added 13 points before fouling out, and limping leading scorer Anhelica Shanrock put up 12 points. Former Mount Shasta Bear Lily Hitchcock knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 11 points.
