“We played hard,” junior Zach Dutton said. "We were hurt when we lost David Wolfe who fouled out. We had a great game but lost it at the end.”

The McCloud Loggers boys basketball team played the Happy Camp Indians tough, with the squad falling at the end during their games on Tuesday, Jan. 28 on their home turf.  

Starting off making the first basket, the Logger boys dug their heels in against Happy Camp, ending the first quarter ahead by six points at 19-13.

It was an aggressive game with the Loggers staying ahead in the second and third quarters leading with a six-point gap, but the Indians caught up to the Loggers in the fourth quarter. With four minutes left in the game, the Indians pulled ahead and won 61-58.

Dutton and Wolfe both scored 21 points for the Loggers, Jaden Quiring scored 10 points, and Travis Blumel scored six points. On Friday, the Loggers lost at Tulelake 72-63 .

This week, McCloud was at Butte Valley on Tuesday, losing the contest 55-53, and was at Big Valley on Thursday, falling 67-57

The Logger boys were at Dunsmuir Friday, winning the contest 72-52. Next Tuesday, McCloud plays host to Big Valley. The boys play at 6:30 p.m.
