The College of the Siskiyous Eagle baseball team dropped 2 of 3 games to Feather River as they began Golden Valley Conference play on Friday and Saturday at home.

After losing the Friday opener 5-1, COS came back to win Saturday’s first game 6-5, They led 5-2 going into the last few innings, but their relievers couldn’t hold the lead as Feather River tied the game at 5-5 in the ninth.

The Eagles won the game when Feather River’s pitcher delivered a wild pitch that allowed an Eagle baserunner to score from third base.

The Eagle’s best hurler, Dustin Mansell, left the game with a 5-2 lead but lost the chance for his third win when his relievers gave up three late runs.

Pitcher Joe Digiacomo was coming off a winning performance against Mendocino but couldn’t find his good stuff and was rocked for 8 runs in the Eagles 12-1 loss to the Golden Eagles in Saturday’s second game.

COS is 1-2 in the GVC and 9-9 for the year.
