Weed Carnevale lineup loaded with locals

This year’s Weed Carnevale music and entertainment lineup will feature local talent that will be rocking throughout the day and late into the night the weekend of July 11, 12 and 13.

The stage schedule is designed to encourage people to do just as this year’s theme says: “Come Early, Stay Late – Weed Carnevale 2008,” according to Weed Chamber of Commerce president Ronda Gubetta.

The entertainment on the Bel Air Park stage will begin at 5 p.m. the evening of Friday, July 11 and at noon on Saturday. It will continue both days until midnight. Sunday’s entertainment and each day run until Midnight.

Bands, musicians and entertainers participating over the weekend are:

Friday, July 11 – King and Queen starting at 5 p.m.; Kanybl Kaow at 5:30 p.m.; the Ted Taforo Quartet at 7 p.m.; Los Homely Boys at 8:30 p.m.; and Rockit at 10 p.m.

Saturday, July 11 – Wild Blues Yonder at 12 p.m.; Mt. Shasta Martial Arts at 2:15 p.m.; Siskiyou Dance Studio at 2:45 p.m.; Line Dancers at 3:15 p.m.; Mt. Gypsies at 4 p.m.; Bruno Grossi at 5 p.m.; Jesse and Friends at 6 p.m.; Somethin’ Funky at 7 p.m.; DJ Reunion at 8 p.m.; and Surface Rising at 10:30 p.m.

On Sunday, July 13 Ravin’ Moon will be performing from noon until closing.

The Montague-based group Kanybl Kaow, photo right, consists of four sisters who each take turns playing all the instruments the group uses. They have been donating their proceeds to breast cancer research. The sisters are Snow, Rain, Silvermoon and Whitefeather.
