Car owners could be seen wiping raindrops from the shiny paint jobs on their custom cars and motorcycles during the  Show and Shine at Abner Weed Frontier and Rollin’ Days on Saturday in downtown Weed.

Main Street was blocked off from Country Drug to the New Life Thrift Store for the occasion. Live music from the 1960s and ’70s was performed as visitors admired the cars and motorcycles, shopped around at the vendors, visited art galleries, and participated in a “poker run” at the downtown businesses.

John Silva won Best of Show with his restored 1947 Chevy pickup. Second place in the car category went to Tom and Rose Harris for their 1940 Ford Pickup, and third went to Dennis Murray’s 1955 Ford Panel Truck.

Motorcycle Best of Show went to David Silva. Bruce and Cynthia Morse took second place, and Alton Casey took third with his 2008 Triumph Bonneville.

The winners of the poker run were Tom and Rose Harris.

Local artist Wisper Krimmer displayed her colorful artwork, some of which was inspired by Mt. Shasta.
